Landscaper's Challenge

Tonight Matt and I will meet with a landscape designer we've hired to put together a complete design for our property. I'm very excited to see what she's come up with for us. We don't expect to be able to do the whole thing this year, but even getting a start in the backyard will be great as far as I'm concerned. Barring any major upsets with Matt's career, we expect to stay in this house until the children all leave home--at least another 15-20 years. So, since the landscaping here is already 30 years old and pretty unkept, we've decided to put in some improvements that we can enjoy for the next 20 years. The company provides the design, they can put the yard in for you, or you can do it yourself, or a combo of each. Since we're definitely a DIY family I expect we'll do most of the work ourselves. After this super long winter Matt is just aching to get outside and labor in the sunshine. My sister has also volunteered to come over from WI to help us for a weekend. Our family is SO blessed to have a man who loves to do projects like this. Matt's desire to learn new skills and ability to persevere through long projects has saved us so much money over the years. I'm really proud of the projects Matt has accomplished in our homes. There really isn't any type of DIY project that he can't do. If we're happy with the design we get tonight I'll post a link to the company tomorrow.

UPDATE: I'm bummed, our landscaper called at 2pm to report that she has been battling the stomach flu all day. We had to reschedule our meeting. I'll post again on this topic once we meet with her.
