Can you name that tune? If so, you probably grew up in the 1970's. This was a segment on the Sunday morning kids show Wonderama with host Bob McCalister. The show was like a kids variety show which included segments on: education, music, audience participation, games, interviews and cartoon shorts and the ever popular Snake Can Game.
Anyway, one of the other segments on Wonderama had all the kids up and exercising, doing jumping jacks, etc. then they would freeze in these funny positions. It made me think of some of the exercise videos I've done over the years. I once did an hour long Yoga workout video that practically killed me. I was doing high impact aerobics 3X a week back then and thought that this yoga thing would be a piece of cake. WRONG! Yoga only looks easy until you try to do it. Right now I'm using an exercise DVD called Slim in Six which is cardio and strength training. It's hard but good. Hopefully it will give me the desired results in six weeks of daily use. We'll see. Care to share some of your exercise video challenges (or nightmares)?

Do you remember "Chicken Fat"? http://www.chickenfatkids.com/ I can still picture everyone in the elementary gym following this thing! My killer right now is the class I'm taking at the Y. Tues and Thurs mornings I'm in the "Boot Camp" class. 60 minutes guaranteed to BURN FAT! Yeah, it burns fat alright. I missed the very first one, so I went last Thursday. By Sunday I was STILL having trouble getting off the couch and my ARM PITS HURT! I went again yesterday (Tuesday) and I wanted to D.I.E! We have to do yoga "planks" and I'm sorry, but my body just says no to planks. I have to go again tomorrow. OMG...it's so hard to make myself get out the door for that class!
Well, I don't remember the Chicken Fat song, but Matt does. He has sung it to me on and off over the years when we've exercised together. I never knew where this song came from until he read your post then pulled up a You tube video of Robert Preston singing the Chicken Fat song. OMG, if I never have to hear that song again I will consider my life extremely blessed! Who on earth thought that song would inspire kids to exercise? Yuck.
Holy cow where do you dig this stuff up?
